Deviousness |
The one thing that puts me off personally about this drawing is the cat's head. Cats usually have much squarer or rounder heads and substantial cheeks that come into play with the placement of the eyes. When you start sketching feline heads, it might help to start off with a square instead of a circle, and adding some ovals to help build up the cheeks. The eyes are set quite deep into the cat's head, so having more form around them keeps the eyes from looking like they are floating. I apologize if this isn't making much sense, I tend to be terrible with words.
Here are a few links that I've found helpful.
[link] Mostly the plates are of lions, but big cat anatomy can be helpful when working with their domestic counterpart. They also have a great selection of dog anatomy.
[link] Feel free to ignore the 'Warrior Cat' title.
[link] A tad bit more stylized. A great and helpful tutorial.
Hope you're having a fantastic Monday. I love that new icon of yours.
I'm defiantly going to have to do some freesketches of different cats sometime.
and thank you! I adore it ;v;
